Young women and health policy

What do you want from the health sector?

Which services do you want access to?

Can you access the health services you need?

What are the important health issues facing young women in Australia?

What are the barriers you or other young women experience in accessing health care?

This two hour workshop will look at two of the priority areas of the new National Women’s Health Policy - sexual and reproductive health, and mental health - and how they stack up for young women.

We’ll discuss some of the most pressing issues for young women in these areas of health, including access to sexual health services, whether abortion is legal or not and where abortion is available, the adequacy of existing sexuality and relationships education, and young women’s access to appropriate and affordable mental health support and services.

If you’re a young woman under 30 with an opinion on any of these issues, we want to hear from you.
