Here is ERA's submission in response to the Commonwealth Treasury’s Employment White Paper, which builds on our participation in the Jobs and Skills Summit. ERA’s membership supports policy that helps women, especially those who are vulnerable or experiencing disadvantage, to get work, keep work and navigate the world of work. However, we are concerned that the terms of reference for the Employment White Paper are too focussed on formal participation in the workforce, with not enough attention on the effects of unpaid work and its unequal distribution between the sexes. ERA would also like to see the definition and measures of productivity re-set to include an accurate valuing of unpaid work. Download our submission here.
